Sanctuary Yoga supports the Chester Eastside Community Garden
In the spirit of creating compassionate community, Sanctuary Yoga, a donation-based spiritual wellness ministry at Trinity, raised $830 in May to support the Chester Eastside Community Garden. These funds were used to purchase garden tools for small hands (3rd to 7th graders), summer plantings, harvest baskets, insect habitats, journals and literacy materials for the Chester Eastside Kids Garden Club. On May 23, members of the Sanctuary Yoga community visited the Gardens to learn first-hand how the Garden supports community health.
Sanctuary Yoga was begun in 2018, with Trinity parishioner Mary Thompson, a certified yoga instructor, leading yoga in the Trinity Sanctuary. With the pandemic, Sanctuary Yoga transitioned on-line, attracting practitioners near and far. Since March, 2020, Sanctuary Yoga has practiced weekly on-line, building compassionate community through the practice and wisdom of yoga.
