Centering Prayer
We are a part of the Contemplative Outreach of Southeast Pennsylvania, which is part of the national network of individual groups for support and education. The practice of Centering Prayer casts new light and meaning on all forms of prayer; members meet to read, study, share and "sit" in together. All are welcome to participate. Centering Prayer meets on Monday evening at 7:30 pm in the Cleaves Room.
Lenten Movie Series
After a simple supper, movies suggested by congregation members are viewed and, afterwards followed by discussion. It is a meaningful time to share food and ideas.
Partners in Ministry
Partners in Ministry (PM) supports the work of the campus chaplain at Swarthmore College. This position has grown beyond a Protestant advisor position to become an ecumenical and interfaith ministry that serves the entire campus. The ministry supports regular Christian Student programming including faith-based student service, retreats, support for hospice volunteers, connection to local congregations, and regular special programs on a variety of topics that connect scholarship with questions of faith and practice. There is an active interfaith ministry that includes interfaith text study, story circles, interfaith retreats, speakers and dialogue across difference. The campus chaplain serves in a collaborative role with diverse academic and staff departments at the College, as well as the larger Swarthmore-Wallingford-Chester community.
