From the Rector’s desk…Trinity Church Annual Meeting 2019
February 7, 2019
Dear Friends in Christ,
Greetings! This Sunday, we will gather as the Trinity, Swarthmore community to mark the year past and look ahead at the year already begun. I am writing to urge you to attend.
We are making special efforts this year to make it both appealing and feasible for people of all ages to stay after the 10am service. We will begin serving lunch, lovingly provided by many volunteers, promptly after the service. The meeting will begin sharply at 11:30am and end promptly at 1pm.
For families with children...Nursery care hours have been extended so that parents have the option of when and how to be with their young children and get them fed. Games and activities have been organized for kids, and youth can choose either to help run the children’s games (volunteers appreciated!) or be in a youth-only group in another room upstairs.
As for the meeting, in addition to the usual elections and review of budget, I will offer a pastoral view of the parish, with forward-looking comments related to the transition with Joyce and other areas of parish life. Bella Englebach, both Rector’s Warden and in 2018, chair of Stewardship, will offer comments and thanks beyond what is printed in the booklet. And we will enjoy brief, five-minute reports highlighting three areas of the parish’s life and ministry this past year:
As you can tell from the above, a lot of work has gone into making this year’s Annual Parish Meeting both feasible for all to attend and worthwhile. If you care about the Trinity community, I hope you’ll come. If you want to know more about the Trinity community, I hope you’ll come. I think it will be a blessed event, and I pray that you will be enriched by taking part in it.
Yours in Christ’s love,
Ted+
