Martin Luther King, Jr. Morning of Service
January 20, 2025
In honor of the legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Trinity Swarthmore hosted its 11th annual Morning of Service in support of Caring for Friends and other local food pantries. Caring for Friends is a non-profit organization which provides meals to 1,700 home-bound individuals, throughout the 5-county Philadelphia region, who have little to no means of support. We are grateful for our surrounding community members who assembled breakfast bags at home, each with a hand-made note card, and dropped them off at our collection site at Trinity. Thanks to generous supporters, we exceeded our goal of 1,000 breakfast bags, and collected 1,423 bags for Caring for Friends to distribute to those they serve. We also made 90 hot meals for Caring for Friends, which we froze so they could be reheated as needed. Thank you to all who came out and supported our 11th annual inter-generational community event, we are grateful to be in community with you!
